'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith renews battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the dramatic dying seconds of his team's remarkable turnaround triumph against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses following the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful effort from distance, and his teammate promptly slammed home the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to revel in the moment, with fans congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result sealed an unbelievable recovery given the Welsh side had been behind 2-0 midway through the second half. In the delirium, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result secured a fourth-round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's long-range effort from about 45 yards going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right flank after they changed formation. That meant competing with the England international, with whom he swapped shirts, and the attacker was among the City players who praised the way Orient attacked the game.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the simple things and simple things, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they are adept at dictate and neutralize a game. You can feel you're doing well and then abruptly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even noticing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a tough attitude and attention just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he reunited with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at a League One side from United. Then came a spell at lower division Salford City, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without much intensity. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to adapt rapidly."

National Team Success

He has shown that development for club and country, excelling for his national side, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including both legs encounters against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This marks a remarkable path for the kid from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who grew up watching his dad, Stuart, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

His single match for the Red Devils came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an plastic turf and the arena covering was sealed owing to conditions of freezing cold. "This represented a long trip and it was cold out there," he says, grinning. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Moving On

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "It was relatively straightforward, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I felt I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

It is mid-afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another step towards getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed fun bus, a minibus driven by academy staff, the drivers, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, another squad member, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to interact with the teammates but I'm planning to be the following person out of the minibus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would blend in with followers on the Tube after beginning his trip at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
